As we wind down on another season we would like to take the opportunity to thank you for choosing Superstars Performing Arts! We are excited to see all the students' hard work take center stage at the yearend recital. Below are reminders regarding recital rehearsal, recital performances, registration dates, competition tryouts, and other general reminders as we close out the 2012-2013 season.

GENERAL ITEMS

LOST & FOUND:
The studio has collected many items in our Lost & Found, we encourage students and parents to check for any lost items. The Lost and Found is located in the seating area across from Studio A.

PICTURES:
Pictures are in and can be picked up at the reception desk.

NO CLASSES:
Reminder classes will not be held May 27th through May 31st in observance of the holiday and to prepare for rehearsal
and recital.

360 WRIGHT ROAD:
The Superstars are NOT moving! The office space on the West end of the building will be available for lease starting in July. So please help us spread the word that the Superstars are remaining in the building at 360 Wright Road and look
forward to continuing to offer all classes in dance, baton, tumbling, hip hop, pom, cheer, and ZUMBA! We are proud to be a part of Norwalk and surrounding communities and appreciate the support!

PARKING AT THE RECITAL VENUE:
During rehearsal and recital please do NOT park in the fire lanes. We've been advised that violators may be ticketed or towed. Additional parking is available on the West side of the high school by the gymnasium entrance. Thank you for your cooperation.

REHEARSAL NORWALK HIGH SCHOOL AUDITORIUM
Friday, May 31st

The Superstars do not run a full costume dress rehearsal; therefore students do Not need to wear costumes for this rehearsal. Students will wear their teal studio t-shirt and black pants, shorts, or capris. Participants should sit in the auditorium and wait until their class is called. When their class is called, students report to the lobby outside the auditorium doors with the appropriate shoes and any props (baton, poms, etc...) in hand. Combination class students will need to bring both tap and jazz/ballet shoes backstage with them. Once the combo class has completed their first routine, students will change their shoes backstage for the second routine. Students in multiple classes and/or combination classes, please review the schedule carefully to determine which shoes your student will need first. Once the students are finished with all their routines, they can be picked in the lobby outside the auditorium and are free to go.

Rehearsal Start Times:
Performance Numbers 1-14 will need to arrive at 5:00
Performance Numbers 15-29 will need to arrive at 6:00
Performance Numbers 30-41 will need to arrive at 7:15
Performance Numbers 42-51 will need to arrive at 8:00
Flash photography and videotaping are allowed during recital rehearsal.

STUDENT NAMES:
Students' names are listed in the program for each class and we need your help to verify the correct spelling for your student(s). Please check the bulletin board between studio B and C to verify your student(s) information and initial to confirm the accurate spelling for the program. Thank you for your assistance.

TIGHTS:
All students are required to wear tan tights for their recital performance (with the exception of tumbling classes). Tights are available for purchase through the studio. Please see the reception desk to purchase tights as soon as possible.

RECITAL ORDERS:
The recital orders are posted around the studio we encourage parents and students in multiple classes to review and notify the staff of any back to back performances. We understand that some students will have quick changes and there is a room off the stage available for quick changes only, please see a Superstars staff member at rehearsal for directions to the quick change room.

VOLUNTEERS:
We are still looking for parent volunteers to help with recital, as a reminder volunteers are given 4 reserved seats for
the recital of their choice. Please see the reception desk today to sign up!

RECITAL CANDY BOUQUETS:
The Competition Dance Team will be selling candy bouquets, which can be pre-ordered before recital. Be sure to order one today for your favorite performer! The candy bouquets are $10 for preorders or $12 the day of recital, please see the order form on the last page of this memo. We THANK YOU for your support of the Dance Competition Team as they will head to
Overland Park, KS for Dance Nationals in June. Note: There will not be any flowers for sale at the recital venue.

RECITAL DVDs:
Dave Mattern Video Productions will be videotaping all the recitals and DVDs will be available for purchase. Order
forms have been provided to students. Please drop off the order form and payment to the reception desk or at the Dave Mattern table at recital. Order forms will also be available at rehearsal and recital.

REMINDERS FOR RECITAL DAY:

Please arrive at least thirty minutes prior to the recital start time, students in the first 15 acts should be dressed and ready to perform. Students will report to the Eastview cafeteria to check-in and will remain in the cafeteria until their
performance time. Students can be picked up after their last routine or at the conclusion of the recital. ALL Students under the age 8 must be picked up by an adult – No Exceptions. All students are invited to stay for the Finale bow at the end of each recital, Superstars Staff members will assist with lining students up in the auditorium to participate in the bow.

Auditorium doors will open 45 minutes prior to the recital start time. Saving seats prior to the doors opening will not be allowed! Any items placed on seats prior to the doors opening will be removed. Flash photography and videotaping are prohibited during recitals as it can be distracting to the performers. Thank you for your cooperation.

SUMMER CLASSES
July 2nd – August 6th

Superstars Performing Arts will be offering summer classes on Tuesday night in Dance, Hip Hop, Pom, Cheer, Tumbling, and Baton. The Summer Session is a 6 week session beginning July 2nd; all registered summer classes will participate in a special performance at the Iowa State Fair. The schedule and registration packets are available at the reception desk and summer registration is open through the first week of summer class.

The Superstars will continue to offer ZUMBA classes on Wednesday nights and Saturday mornings! Come join the ZUMBA Dance Party on Wednesday Nights 5:15pm - 6:00pm and Saturday Mornings from 8:30am - 9:15am throughout the summer.
ZUMBA Gold will also continue through on the summer on Saturday Morning from 9:15am – 10:00am. Drop-in Rate is $5 per Class or 6 Session Punch Cards are available for $25!

Keep up on your Technique over the Summer with Miss Jamie S's Technique Focused Classes, June 19th through July 31st! Ballet Technique with Leaps, Jumps, & Turns: Wednesday Nights 6:00pm -7:30pm. $50 for 6 Session Punch Card or $10 Drop-in Rate.

FALL REGISTRATION
Fall Registration kicks off on Saturday, June 22nd with a Superstars Open House from 9am – 12pm at the studio. All returning and new students are welcome to register during this open house event and this is great opportunity to receive additional information on our competition programs and summer classes. Be sure to register early as some classes fill up FAST!

The fall schedule will be posted at the studio and on the website the last week of classes. Registration runs throughout the summer, please refer to the schedule below for registration times and open house events! Please feel free to contact the studio with any questions on registration.

Open House Registration Events
Saturday, June 22nd 9am – 12pm Open to all new and returning students. Also open for summer registrations.
Saturday, August 3rd 9am – 12pm Open to all new and returning students. Shoes and props will also be available to order.
Saturday, August 24th 9am – 12pm Open to all new and returning students. Shoes and props will also be available to order.

Additional Fall Registration Times
Every Tuesday from 5pm – 7pm during the summer class session, July 2nd through August 6th.

COMPETITION TEAM TRYOUTS & WORKSHOPS
The Superstars Performing Arts Academy has award winning competition teams and we are holding open auditions. Our competition teams provide students the opportunity to take their dance and baton to the next level through additional training.

Wednesday, June 5th Competition Hip Hop Workshop:: 6pm – 7pm
Returning team members and students interested in the Hip Hop competition team are encouraged to attend the FREE competition hip hop workshop, during this time students will learn a combination taught by the hip hop team coach and the studio directors will be available to answer questions regarding the team and competition expectations.

Wednesday, June 5th Competition Baton Tryouts
Fall 2013 Grades: K-3 6:00-6:30
Fall 2013 Grades: 4-6 6:30-7:00
Fall 2013 Grades: 7-9 7:00-7:30
Fall 2013 Grades: 10-12 7:30-8:00

Students interested in the competition baton program are required to have taken at least one year of baton.

Thursday, June 7th Competition Dance Tryouts
New to the Team 5:30 – 6:30
Students interested in the competition dance program are required to have taken at least two years of a tap and jazz combo class. 2012-2013 team members will receive a communication from Mr. Jay after Nationals regarding the 2013-2014 teams.
